Winter is upon us! (Well, as 'winter' as you can be in AZ, without actually being freezing cold, scraping snow, or dealing with numbing body parts.) One thing that is no different in AZ from everywhere else? The Holiday Season!
Another fabulous thing arriving with the season? GREY MATTERS PRODUCTIONS web site is actually up and racing (well....wobbling) down the sidewalk like an infant. And like all (or most) infants, this site will grow and change over time. For now, we will keep it simple.

During the weekend of of November 11/12 and 18/19, AZ Women's Theater held their 2nd Annual Pandora Showcase. The venture, which produces new works written by and directed by women, offered up pieces previously featured in the Pandora Festival. Whereas the Pandora Festival offers simple, staged readings of juried scripts submitted by women playwrights, the showcase takes the process a huge step forward by adding production values and full staged pieces selected from Pandora Festival winners.
The full length play selected this year was WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW, written by Grey Matters founder, Larissa Brewington. The play, directed by Pam Sterling, follows a few days in the life of the Bridges family, a black family living in Rochester, who run Bridges Inn Restaurant. Filled with humor, emotion and family dysfunction, the piece starred local performers, Ava Biven, Lorin Akers, Ashley Strickland, Gabrielle Van Buren, T.A. Burrows, LaToya Finley and Larissa Brewington.
The show was well received and the audience quite gracious!
